Project Description

For a leading distributor of electronic components, we developed an internal communication platform that fundamentally optimizes the exchange of information about product changes. Before the implementation of this solution, more than 60 sales representatives regularly received extensive PowerPoint presentations with updates on electronic components, which represented an inefficient and error-prone process. Through our Product Development Bootcamp Workshop, we were able to develop a clear solution vision that optimally meets the needs of the sales representatives. Starting from a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), we continuously developed the platform into a full-fledged solution that is now used daily by more than 300 employees. The platform clearly presents individual changes to electronic components and their delivery times, sends automated updates to relevant employees and integrates seamlessly into existing sales processes. By personalizing the information based on the respective customer portfolios of the sales representatives, it is ensured that each employee receives exactly the information relevant to them, which leads to a significant increase in efficiency.

Challenge

The central challenge was to digitalize and automate a highly complex, previously manually controlled communication process. In doing so, extensive data on thousands of electronic components had to be processed and tailored to the individual needs of the sales representatives. Additionally, integration into existing IT systems and business processes required a deep understanding of company operations.

Solution

Based on the insights from our Product Development Bootcamp Workshop, we developed a scalable platform with a user-friendly frontend and a powerful backend for data processing. An individually configurable notification system ensures that sales representatives are automatically informed about changes relevant to them. Through regular feedback loops with end users, we were able to continuously improve the platform and adapt it to changing requirements.

Results

The implemented solution has fundamentally transformed internal product communication and is now used daily by more than 300 employees. The sales representatives benefit from current, personalized information on product changes, which leads to well-founded customer conversations and ultimately to an increase in sales success. The automation of the process has also led to significant time savings and a reduction in errors. The continuous further development of the platform ensures its long-term benefit for the company.
